What are StatLine IQ Scores?

StatLine IQ is a proprietary composite rating modeled on the intelligence IQ scale. Rather than relying on a single stat like ERA or batting average, each score synthesizes multiple performance dimensions into one number — making it easy to compare players across different strengths. A score of 100 represents the league average; every 15 points is one standard deviation above or below.

StatLine Pitching-IQ weighs ERA, WHIP, strikeout rate, command (K:BB), and innings durability — a dominant ace with elite control scores far higher than ERA alone would suggest.
StatLine Hitting-IQ combines OPS, contact quality, plate discipline, and speed — rewarding complete hitters who get on base, drive the ball, and create pressure on the bases.

Team ERA of 2.73 is solid (College benchmark: 2.80). WHIP 1.42 is elevated (benchmark: 1.20). Team K/BB of 0.93 is below the 3.5 standard. Top pitcher handles 39% of innings—manageable but monitor as season progresses. No dominant ace yet, but 8 solid pitchers provide good options—spread innings to develop all arms evenly. 1 pitcher(s) still working on fundamentals—give them low-pressure innings to build confidence.

108
#21 Isabella Vega No.2 Starter
2.51 ERA 1.19 WHIP 1.5 K:BB 128.1 IP
Strengths
Strike thrower with low walk rate (0.46 BB/IP)—attacks the zone confidently
Solid WHIP of 1.19—at or above College average
High innings (128.1 IP) shows coach's trust—reliability makes them a go-to pitcher
Allows less than one hit per inning (0.73 H/IP)—tough to square up
Areas to Watch
Hit 22 batters (0.17 HBP/IP)—control issue putting runners on base and risking injury
FIP of 4.49 is much higher than ERA of 2.51—may be benefiting from defense or sequencing luck
Recommendations
First-pitch strike emphasis: aim for 65%+ first-pitch-strike rate through better early-count aggression
Solid foundation—continue current trajectory, add secondary pitch variation to keep hitters guessing
Throwing 39% of team innings—monitor workload to prevent fatigue in postseason
Katelyn Cochran
105
#4 Katelyn Cochran No.3 / Spot Starter

Strengths
Strike thrower with low walk rate (0.30 BB/IP)—attacks the zone confidently
Areas to Watch
ERA looks good but WHIP of 1.49 suggests possible regression—stranding runners at high rate
Recommendations
First-pitch strike emphasis: aim for 65%+ first-pitch-strike rate through better early-count aggression
Strikeout development: add velocity work, develop sharper breaking pitch, practice two-strike putaway approach
Underlying numbers suggest tougher times ahead—proactively improve WHIP through better location

5.60 ERA 2.80 WHIP 0.3 K:BB 5 IP
Strengths
Allows less than one hit per inning (0.80 H/IP)—tough to square up
Areas to Watch
High WHIP of 2.80—too many baserunners create constant pressure

Very poor K/BB ratio of 0.3—walks more than they strike out
Recommendations
Priority: Command work—focus on repeatable mechanics, tempo control, and simplified pitch selection until strike rate improves
Command-first approach: simplify to one primary pitch, work on hitting spots, then gradually add secondary offerings
Continue building sample size—observe trends over next 5-10 innings before finalizing priorities
